Where can l find a place like this to shop where l live. I live in Melbourne Australia.?
Reasonably priced, great food selection with awesome vibes. I’ve long wanted to come try their food and I was not disappointed. Ordered their artichoke sandwich and pulled jackfruit buns, and both tasted amazing. The sauce used for the sandwich had a very nice spicy punch to it, not too strong but it was a good highlight. The place is small, so be sure to come early on the weekend if you don’t want to wait.
MoreA great little spot with delicious comfort food. They also have nice beer, wine and cocktail lists.
MoreThe Southern Fried Artichoke sandwich is probably one of the most famous menu items here (for a good reason)! Everything is always delicious and there are plenty of vegan options and substitutions ❤❤❤ They change their feature dessert item every week or so, and it is honestly always some of the finest vegan desserts I've ever tasted. Always looking forward to visiting for great food and great staff!
MoreThis place is awesome. Really small menu. Comfort vegan/vegetarian food. The poutine is to die for. Everything we have had has been really good. My only criticism is just a touch more salt would make it amazing. The service can be a little inconsistent. You either get table service or you go to the counter and order.
MoreReally good food especially for being vegetarian. We were happy and this is one of our go to places for lunch lately. Only thing is they missed bringing out our fries, which is no biggie, but otherwise this place is an easy 5 star!
MoreThis is a really nice spot. Super hip place with a gluten ans vegan friendly menu. I had the Mac n cheese and it did not disappoint. Friendly staff and good atmosphere for something casual. Highly recommended for people with strict dietary restrictions.
MoreSo glad their back patio is open again. We felt like we were on a mini vacation. As usual the food and service incredible. Try the artichoke sandwich. It's to die for.
MoreLOVE the spot so much, best tasting food! BBQ burger is incredible. But, I must say, I don’t like the additional price for the vegan options, seems very unfair given that the vegan option should actually be cheaper than the non-vegan. Discourages those who want to dip into the vegan diet to do it as it raises the price of the food.
MoreGreat food and friendly service. The crispy artichoke sandwich was A++
Good restaurant. Used to be even better... what happened to "fried oyster"? Changed the batter? I have not ordered it lately because I was disappointed the last few times... please make them like before! Still a very good restaurant though.
MoreFast service and delicious food. They are usually quite busy so we came here at 2pm and was seated immediately. Food was amazing as usual.
MoreNice ambiance and appealing menu on paper, but mediocre taste on ones palette at best. Overpriced for small portions. Spent $40 on 3 items for 2 people, both who left hungry.
MoreDelicious vegetarian food with vegan options for each dish. Highly recommend this place.
MoreGreat spot with a ton of vegetarian/vegan options. Does have a wait time typically but it's well worth it. Highly recommend the oyster tacos, brussel sprouts and the onion rings. Their house ketchup is scrumptious and it's really what true ketchup should taste like. I definitely recommend both this spot and the sister restaurant Acorn.
MoreI miss the Mac & cheese and the apple cheesecake, but the food is always incredible and the staff are so kind and helpful with questions. Love this restaurant. Also has the best patio in Vancouver.
MoreGreat take-out! We got the arbor bowl, and it was amazing! The falafel, sauce, pickles... everything was great :)
MoreGreat, casual vegetarian and vegan fare, from The Acorn's owners. The veggie burger is great, the flatbreads are very tasty, and the tacos are worth writing home about. Sure to please vegetarians and carnivores (like me) alike!
MoreI'm not vegetarian, but I did really enjoy the food here. I got the fried artichoke sandwich with fries, as well as the fried oyster mushroom appetizer. I really enjoyed the fried mushrooms. The batter was crispy and its a fun texture. The sandwich was great and I had the chance to try eggplant "bacon"- so interesting! I'll be back to try their burger next :)
MoreProbably my vegetarian restaurant in the city. Creative menu. I preferred this place over their sister restaurant Acorn in terms of ambience and comfortable sitting.
MoreWent to the Arbor for dinner and tried their artichoke sandwich and pulled bbq jackfruit buns. The artichoke sandwich was absolutely delicious! The slaw, sauce, jalapenos, and fried artichoke went very well together. The artichoke was very crispy. I would definitely order this again. The jackfruit buns were missing texture, the sliced carrots were not enough to add texture to the otherwise very soft filling and buns. Would recommend ordering something else other than the jackfruit buns.
MoreJust a wicked little restaurant. It is small, so be prepared to wait a few minutes. It’s almost entirely vegan but they have some really unique twists on a few dishes (deep friend popcorn broccoli!)Went by myself and sat up at the bar. There’s just a great positive energy in this place. The servers are helpful & have superb advice for what to order. Would absolutely go back!
MoreA more casual version of the Acorn restaurant a short distance north of the aforementioned eatery on the same side of the street. The pulled jackfruit in lieu of pulled pork and the fried artichoke sandwich are amazingly delicious. The staff and service provided a very friendly environment and the service was prompt. The establishment is small, so you may have to wait to be seated during peak times.
MoreI tried the Southern Fried Artichoke sandwich through Uber Eats. Amazing! The artichoke was crispy, the Mayo was perfectly spicy and the eggplant bacon turned this eggplant hater around. Really recommended!
MoreNeat little spot for vegan eats, great staff. Nice decor. Would have given it 5 stars but the drinks felt watered down, and the price is expensive for what it is. Kimchi burger was tasty but the bun was smushed and soggy, patty was way too soft, no texture or mouth feel. The forgot one of our orders... 4 people and only 3 dishes came out then they realized one is missing. Brought out the missing dish as soon as they could but everyone else was waiting before eating.
MoreShared a artichoke wrap and a classic burger with a long time friend. Both were good but we found the burger was better. Very flavourful for a non meat burger and looked like a traditional burger. Nice thin cut fries the wrap was just a wrap with no sides which was disappointing. Definitely would come back for that next time for the burger. Little garden in the back was peaceful and quiet for gatherings as the main dinning area can be a bit noisy facing Main Street.
MorePresentation is great but my steam buns came cold. I told my server and she said “my hands are full” then someone else came and said the filling is not hot but warm and the bun should be hot. The bun was cold and filling cold. Not how I expected to get “steamed buns”. I’ve only had steamed buns served hot. It also took 40min to come and the table next to me ordered 20min after me and got their buns strait away. Maybe better luck next time.
MoreGreat food. Lots of vegetarian options and many are even vegan or can be made vegan. I'm not gluten free but they do also offer that on most of their dishes. Would definitely recommend; the food is so light yet filling.
MoreClean and good quality ingredients but I didn't like 2 out of 3 items that we ordered. The roasted artichoke sandwich is excellent but the sunomono is different to put it nicely, tasted like very salty, vinegar-ey rice noodles. Pretty small portions. I had high expectations for the brownie as it was recommended by the staff but it tastes so weird, there's a sauce they use that's very tart and tastes like ketchup that they pour on the brownie. I was hoping for a raspberry coulis etc. I almost gave it back, the brownie itself seemed high quality but not sweet enough. Overall, I'm disappointed and I would say I don't understand what all the hype is about. I still gave a tip because if I don't like something doesn't mean someone else won't either. But...the taste is unique and not for everyone. Unfortunately, I won't be going back!
MoreTwo of us had lunch here on the intimate back terrace and had the best caramelized pan fried Brussels sprouts with a lovely sauce, GF vegan burger, with amazing homemade ketchup, spring still and sparkling water at will, and a supreme vegan chocolate mousse. Quality ingredients harmoniously combined. A real delight. Attentive staff, swift service. Lovely coffee. Sure to come here again and highly recommend. Decently priced too.
MoreMUST HAVE:. Southern Fried Artichoke Sammich!!! Best vegan sandwich I've ever had! 👍. And I've had some from America from the West Coast to East Coast! Service is friendly to boot and the place is cute! Believe me, visit here and eat in! You won't regret it!
MoreHi. I love your place. But please bring back the pizza! You guys had a great pizza collection. I really liked the new dough.
MoreVery cool place with an all-vegetarian menu! Clean and bright interior with a lush, serene back patio. Space is small and it gets tricky navigating the narrow walkways between the seats. Miles was very friendly and gave great recommendations. Our favourite was the jack fruit steamed buns; these won the 2018 best steamed buns in Vancouver by VanMag and the title was well earned.
MorePleasant and friendly staff, and the outdoor patio seating is great and worth waiting for. The artichoke sandwich was great and reminded me of a fried chicken sandwich, very flavourful (but lacking protein which is often a problem with vegetarian meals). The BBQ burger was very good. I love that they make almost everything from scratch including their ketchup and other sauces. The portions were decent, however I found the jackfruit steamed buns to be underwhelming, and very expensive for the small portion. Their prices are definitely high, so increasing portions or finding ways to justify price would be good.
MoreGood spot for vegans and vegetarians Ordered the classic arburger and the poutine. Everything was tasty. Service is a little slow however everyone was friendly
MoreI like the deep fried oyster mushrooms. The artichoke sandwich is usually my "go to" but sometimes the fried artichoke is soggy... It is amazing when it's crispy though! It's a very hip place, I like the atmosphere. Good place to relax and just chill.
MoreLoved the food at Arbor! They're known for their fried artichoke sandwich and it's to die for. It's got a great atmosphere, awesome decor and good vibes. Looking forward to going back.
MoreBy far the best vegan restaurant. Amazing service, nice ambience. Loved the artichoke nuggets and the broccoli Mac n cheese and also the burger was lip smacking. The burrito was good but could be better with something more filling in it.
MoreBeing a person that enjoys meat... This place enjoyable. Attentive staff and tasty food. Who would have thought a Cesar Salad wrap could be so good. And I'm not sure if it homemade ketchup or what, but it definitely was a uniquely better taste than they typical Heinz ketchup
MoreGreat veg spot. Always amazing staff that are kind and well versed in their product knowledge.
MoreYou get one chance to make a good impression. I drove 6000+ miles to see Vancouver. When I arrived at The Arbor, the couple in front of me was told there was a 20 minute wait. When the host got to me he was extremely rude. He said it would be 40 minutes. I was okay with that. I asked to use the restroom. While I was gone my son came in and the couple in front of him was told 20 minutes. When the host got to him he was asked to wait outside for me. I don't know why the couple after me would be seated ahead of us. It seemed like they didn't want to seat us for some reason. I do know that when my son told me this we cancelled. The Black Lodge restaurant was amazing.
MoreWith Vegetarian food, you have to really push the flavours in your dishes to match a meat dish. When we visited The Arbor, we were excited to see what they were going to do with their Burgers and Tacos. Unfortunately, everything was just average. The burger was completely dominated by the Dijon Mustard and Pickles, to the point where you can’t taste the patty itself. The tacos were better, with the fried Shiitake mushrooms giving it an interesting texture and flavour. Finally ,the service was a bit of a hit and miss. It was generally on the slow side, and not very friendly.
MoreMy boyfriend and I used to really like this place, and their food is quite good, but the last time we went he wanted his burger without the mayo-like special sauce as he can’t really tolerate mayo or anything like it. The server sheepishly informed us that while they’d been able to negotiate that with the kitchen this time they couldn’t really guarantee it going forward.I guess making something my boyfriend can eat compromises their artistic vision. We haven’t been back since, and I don’t see that changing unless they get things under control.
MoreThe Arbor is a beautiful Vegetarian Restaurant. I say beautiful because everything about the restaurant is nice and sweet.... Like home.Pretty small indoor space with minimal art and fixtures. But the best part is the backyard Patio. You have to see this to feel the 'at home' backyard. On a sunny day or a dry day, this is a very good spot for food.We ordered Fried Oysters for appetizers. It was really good. Went well with the Rice Beer. Similar to Onion Rings but whole lot more delicious. Then we ordered the 'Southern Fried Artichoke Sandwich'. This is the best. Fried Artichokes in a sandwich. Very flavorful main.Arbor is a must go place for a Vegetarian or a vegan. And do not forget to visit their sister restaurant, The Acorn.Food - 9Service - 8Ambience - 9Experience - 9Expensive - $$
MoreYou can't go wrong with a quinoa bowl and a burger. Both were tasty, will come back soon.
MoreYum! Place is small but the food is delicious! We had the Cauliflower Island, Daddy's pizza, and Southern Fried Artichoke Sandwich. Definitely coming back.
MoreI came here with my partner this past Saturday because we missed the opportunity to come here a prior weekend because of a 90 minute wait. The food was good and our server was kind. However, I feel no urge to come back here. We had a pleasant experience but it was nothing worth boasting or telling my friends about.
MoreGreat place, great food, great staff, really small venue. I believe they have a limited amount of seats on purpose, but they would benefit so much to enlarge the restaurant a little bit. Besides that their vegetarian barbecue burger is fantastic. The vegetarian bacon was not worth it do add, but besides that, all good! Worth trying a visit if you want a quality vegetarian dish in Vancouver
MoreGreat place for vegetarian! Must try the daddy pizza.
I've heard good things about this restaurant and now I can say the rumors are true! The atmosphere is light and inviting. Upon arrival we were offered a high chair and though I declined the offer it gave me the impression that families are welcome to dine here. We enjoyed the delightfully crispy oysters, breaded artichoke sandwich and mushroom stroganoff. We shared all dishes between the two of us with leftovers to enjoy for later. Service was attentive and friendly. Delightful, hearty vegetarian, feel good cuisine!
MoreOh Arbor, how I love you. I can't wait to get back to your yummy Caesar salad, your delicious gluten free pizzas, your special tacos. Interesting wine selections, unexpected desserts...what more can a vegetarian ask for??
